If you are just plainly wanting to get rid of it. Then Please consider donating it to a battered womens' shelter or to a mentor program (big brothers & big sisters) They should be able to offer it to someone who could make good use out of it, even if it is old and out dated. Besides, most donations to charities like that are tax deducatable, you could get a write off on your taxes for doing so.

otherwise, if you are not wanting to just get rid of it....sell it on ebay or post in your local classified ads.

Good luck.

There are several means of divesting yourself of an older laptop.
>> eBay
>> Charitable Organizations (schools, churches)
>> Newspaper Ads

Just be sure that before you hand over your old machine to its new owner you've obliterated your data from the hard drive. Simply reinstalling Windows or reformatting the drive will leave your data intact and capable of being snooped. There are any number of products out there but the one I use is Wipe Drive. You can read about it at the link below. It is an extra expense when you're trying to put some coins in your pocket, but should some piece of your identity get compromised it could add up to quite a few coins in the long run. Good luck.

Sell it on ebay, but first remove the hard drive because that could have personal information you don't want others to find.
