house is AC, lights hooked directly in- AC
Car battery DC, lights run off battery- DC
Transformers are AC- AC
Battery charger run through a rectifier- DC
Electromagnet (had to look this one up)- either

direct current (D.C) is found in filament of a lightbulb in a car
alternating current (A.C) is found in the filament of a lightbulb at home.
