What does everyone think of Idaho. Is it a pile of potatoes or a wilderness retreat. This will help me decide its "possible" future population growth, and my roll in it.

Yes, i am deciding if there will be rapid growth or it is still somewhat unknown. I would like to start our family there.

It depends where in Idaho you go. Some areas are mainly agricultural. Some areas are not. If you're looking for a place that's more urban, try Boise or one of the surrounding cities. There's lots to do there. They also have a skiing resort nearby. Nature-wise, they've got hiking and biking trails. Boise is in SW Idaho and it's mostly desert.

North Idaho is very green but much less of an urban area. I don't know much else about it.

South East Idaho is also quite pretty, but it's a desert. Mainly agricultural over there. The winters in the SE are awful though. And it's tough to find good work. It seems like most people are kinda poor there.

All in all, I think Idaho's a pretty good place to live. I'd say it's more of a wilderness retreat than a pile of potatoes.

Population Growth and your role in it? Are you referring to marriage and babies?
Well, if you're into the Big Love kind of Plural Marriage, then Idaho would probably be a good choice.
PS-New Yorkers aren't that ignorant. Stoddie can't take a joke.

Idaho is growing, but there is a lot of wilderness areas, a lot of places to go camping.

I think it depends on where you're from. People from the west usually know that it's beautiful (and a potato producer!), but people in the east are sometimes more ignorant. 10 years ago when I went to New York (from Oregon) people were asking if we had indoor plumbing and electricity! - And they were serious!
