I always wonder it and it makes no sense. I agree that blacks should have a bit of cultural resistance, and i think that following soccer would be just that. I would love an answer.
We all know caribbean islanders love soccer, africans also, black euros also

Kids here in the US were not brought up on Soccer like European, African, South American nations were. To us it is Junior Sport considering it didn't get popular until somwehere around 1965/1968. I played in the first ever Youth Soccer league here in Chicago during that time period.

Just look around your own neighborhood. How many Baseball diamond, Tennis courts, Football fields, Basketball hoops do you see. Now compare that to soccer pitches. Not a whole lot out there.

Eventually as youth soccer grow's and as professional soccer becomes a real spectator sport, you will see the black players come.

In the Caribbean, Africa, Europe and other countries soccer is widely played. In America it's Baseball, Football and Basketball. I think it's cultural differences as opposed to skin color. I've been more exposed to these type of sports. Although I did play soccer in high school physical education.

I wished you wouldn't bring colour into this. Northamericans on the whole don't have a football culture and their "soccer" is more a female sport......On junior level you mostly find people who don't have the first idea about football managing the teams. It is supposed to be the fastest growing sport in Canada and the States, but I doubt it will ever take over from hockey or American football.

Depends on the island in the Caribbean. Soccer is popular in Trinidad and Tobago as well as Jamaica, but the rest of the area is baseball, including Cuba, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic.

The size and strength that makes Black American Atheletes so dominant in American sports works against a soccer player who has to be quick and have stamina. It is not a good sport to be six four two fourty in.

I dont think it has anything to do with black Americans.. It has to do with Americans not liking soccer, because we have 4 other sports which have better athletes

it's not that they are black that they don't follow soccer, it's because they live in America. MANY races in america don't follow soccer.

Why would we when we've got American football? :-)

I'll be so glad when the cup is over, soccer slinks back into it's obscurity (at least in the US) and we no longer have to see STUPID questions like this one...
