I wanna take my gf away for a week or so, and not have to spend a fortune. Maybe keep travel and lodging costs under $500. Fodd/drink is not a concern. She will have just finished taking the law bar exam, and I'd like take her someplace relaxing and that won't cost an arm and a leg to get there. A place where she can relax and yet there is fun stuff to do....would be the best. Any suggestions?

And yes, we are both of age. We are both 28----she would be quite a wonderkind to be graduating law school at 17. Hehehehe! Thanks for any advice!

It has to be someplace close you can drive, and probably camp. You will need a tent. Find a state park about 100-200 miles from where you live. cook out over an open fire. Buy a pack of hot dogs and buns. Fires are very romantic. Usually there is a lake, beach, swimming at a state park somewhere. Nature hikes are cheap and very romantic.

$500 really isnt much nowadays especially for a week. I recently took a vacation for 9 days that was supposed to be about 12-1400 dollars. By the time I got home I was out about $2500. So make sure you plan for everything before you set out on your trip. It might be good to look into out of the ordinary places. Maybe a nice bed and breakfast place somewhere thats not in a big city but close enough to one so that you can go into the city if you want to go out somewhere. If you just want to relax that might be a good bet. Something that has a jacuzzi so you two can relax in it and maybe close to a beach so you can relax and get some sun during the day. You have lots of options but again it will be hard to pull off a whole week with $500.

If you leave close to a beach, take her there. Beaches can be very relaxing and lots of fun. Go on-line and find a hotel near the beach that has at least a 4 star rating and you can check prices there. Don't even think about flying anywhere since airline prices have gone sky high!

i wouldn't recommend flying then. Just drive somewhere close and stay at a motel 8 at a non major city. $500 isn't much depending on where you live, but it is doable. hope that $500 isn't to include entertainment and food as well... good luck.
Vegas is always a good bet because evertying is right there and there are tons to do if you're not into gambling, especailly if you've never been there before.

Vegas is usually the cheaper option, but not much on relaxation. Depends on where you are coming from I guess. A nice bed and breakfast that is far enough away to make you feel like it's a vacation, but close enough to eliminate the need to fly.

I don't know where you live but if you live close to Cincinnati OH that would be a good place. There is a ton of stuff to do. King's Island, the Aquarium, the Zoo, several water parks, and lots of nice malls and clubs to go to.

Depends on where you're coming from.
East Coast, West Coast?
Try looking for an all-inclusive so you won't have to travel from the resort & everything will be paid for in advance.
