I'm not sure if this is the answer you're seeking, but we used to just get a 5 gallon bucket or other container and fill it with soil, newspaper, coffee grounds and whatever vegetable matter we were using and then put the worms on top. They would burrow down and live in all that stuff til we were ready to use them or sell them.

Just get a box that's made out of non biodegradable material (plastic). Makesure its long but not very deep. About 2 to 3 feet. Put table scrapes, yard, waste and worms inside. Turn it about once a week.

i like those plastic composting containers because they never rot and they are pretty cheap. i think most of them have pretty sturdy lids too.
