The magnetic poles of the earth are called geomagnetic poles. Is the north geomagnetic pole a north magnetic?

The pole in the north direction of earth is the south magnetic pole of earth's magnet.

The position of magnetic pole is changing but not the pole itself. If the pole cahnges then the magnetic needle in the compass will deflect in the opposite direction.

Right now the arctic north pole has a south type magnetic pole near it. This question always screws up people because by definition the end of a compass needle that points north is called the 'north' end. But because of the 'opposites attract' way magnets work, the earth's arctic magnetic pole has to be the other type. So it's a south magnetic pole up there in Canada.

I could be mistaken, but I believe it's the north magnetic pole, hence the name, "North Pole." We are all electro-chemical beings, so we are probably not only influenced by the magnetic pole, but we probably also INFLUENCE the magnetic poles with our thoughts and electro-chemical energy. I think that if we can raise our vibrations and keep our thoughts more positive, the problem with the ozone layer will disappear.

yes, currently it is. known as normal magnatizm. But the poles have randomly had magnetic reversals through out the earths history (magnetic south) and as far as i know, nobody knows why, or how.

i thought the polarities change every few thousand years or so. They found records of it changing quite frequently in the strata on the ocean floor.

I wish i could remember where i read about that, it was an interesting story.

Yes, there is a "SOUTH GEOMAGNETIC POLE"
