try cleaning it with a lens cleaner..if that doesn't work make sure the computer is recognizing it. If it is and it still won't work the laser may have gone out and you'll have to replace it.

I've had viruses stop my CD drives from reading. You could try a quick scan some time if everything seems to be in working order...

Try to clear its lens, with a cotton ear cleaning pad moist in alcohol, restart your computer , and right click on my computer and then click properties/ hardware/device manager, and see if there is a yellow ! mark on your drive, and see how to reslove this issue

First restart your computer. Then not correct please clean lens. It can using cleaning CD.
