John's "Across The Universe" It was originally a B-side of a single; but it is a haunting song about one of his break ups.

The song has been covered by a multitude of artists, including.

Fiona Apple, featured in the film Pleasantville
David Bowie, on his album Young Americans, singing alongside John Lennon
Rufus Wainwright
10cc
Robyn Hitchcock

Another version was performed by a number of artists, including Billie Joe Armstrong, Bono, Steven Tyler, Brian Wilson, Tim McGraw, Scott Weiland, Alicia Keys, Alison Krauss, Norah Jones, and Stevie Wonder, backed by members of Velvet Revolver, at the 2004 Grammy Awards ceremony in February 2005. The following week, a recording of the performance was released exclusively for purchase through the iTunes Music Store. All proceeds from its sale go to December 26, 2004 Tsunami victim funds. Sales from the benefit release made it the fastest-selling download in iTunes history and allowed the song to peak at #22 on the Billboard singles chart.

Pink Floyd included a notable homage to the song in their acclaimed Echoes: the line "inciting and inviting" is directly lifted from Across The Universe. Roger Waters also recorded a cover of the song.

All You Need is Love! :D It expresses John's vision and the true purpose of the 60s-70s anti-war movement. It also combines music from different cultures. I'm working on something similar, but hope to get at least 4-8 beats from cultural music all over the world having to do with Love (spiritual), Peace, or Hope.

"A Day in the Life"

It's actually two different song fragments by Lennon and McCartney. Awesome lyrics, production for the time and the orchestra added an amazing dimension.

Paul used the same type of techniques for "Band on the Run".

Glass Onion.

It is one of the few that is not overplayed, and it makes fun of some of the myths about the Beatles.
