Dust moves through the air, and even if you are not home, your house can become dusty. The particles move through the ventilation system, and are constantly there. You are not the reason dust is present, it is always there.

Floor and wall vents. Also if you are using an air conditioner in the window, that too will help bring it in. Also when the door is open some dust will travel thru. Crack and holes also help dust come in.
No matter where you turn around, dust is going to be there looking at ya. I will just get done dusting, few days later there it is again. Also your ceiling fan blows dust around. They are good for trapping some dust and it can build up . Check your blades for heavy dust, the dark grey black kind.

Most household dust is dead skin particles. These are circulating in the house constantly and will settle in any house used or empty. The house would have to be empty for a long time for ther to be no dust or you can have your skin removed like michael jackson

Dust is just in the air.

To cut down on dusk.... be sure to replace you HVAC air filters regularly. You can also purchase standalone HEPA and other kinds of air purification devices which will yank those particles out of the air... and make things less dusty.

If you have carpets (a haven for dust collection), vacuum with a good quality vac with an air filter on its "exhaust".
