Massage envy is a new franchise that offers discounted rates for membership message. What do people feel about this business? There seems to be disgruntal workers but what are the economic factors they are missing? Will Message therapist' lose clients to this cheaper and rapidly expanding concept? Will they no longer be able to pay these disgruntal workers higher "alternantive rates"? It seem the demand is high and supply is under a monopoly by therapist.

First off,is it massage or message? If it's massage,I feel, offering a discounted rate will definitely attract more consumers to try it,if they have never done so before.Right now, most of us are put off by the high rates of these things-incluing myself, though I want to get massages atleast once a month. This alternative method will increase competiton & make it less expensive for people wanting to try it so,there will be an increase in business.I think that will be a good thing.

My perception of the "message envy" field is that is a start-up area fad. As a start-up, in a questionable field, and a "risky" economy, there will be a a shake out, and it will be a failure; there are too many fads chasing the amount of money that is available to make it profitable. Sorry for my bad news.
