adsl connects over a telephone line, you can get internet access over a sattelite if dsl or cable is unavailable, or the dish is a package deal for tv+internet access together, i think sbc offers that.

Never heard of such a wacky proposition. In ADSL connection the ordinary landlines are used for connection with an ADSL modem.If you want to connect wirelessly you should have a laptop and with NIC slot inbuilt where you should push the Network Interface Card for being wirelessly connected. It is a wrong inhibition that to be wire lessly connected you should have a dish(provided you have good coverege by the telecom service provider).

I'm not familar with ADSL, but yuou need a dish only for a satelite connection like with Direct way.

I have it and love it! But they can put it on a pole too, but I prefer on my roof on the back of my house. I like the roof because nobody wioll just come by and mess with it, nor will it get bumped doing yard work etc...

Yes people, they can be on the back, no matter which way it needs to point as long as it clears the roof and trees, same with the TV ones!

probably never. So far as I know ADSL goes over phone lines.
