I haven't been able to find any REPUTABLE articles or studies on the submect. other than mere conjecture. There are indications of a trend toward younger sexual maturity, particularly in girls, but there are a variety of factors that may or may not contribute to this, rather than being the sole cause. Lifestock hormones are only one theory (but the most publicized, even if the facts are not in about whether they actually affect us at all). Another theory is that because Americans in general eat too much, we're all fat (especially the kids of the Nintendo generation). Since there is evidence that the hormone leptin, produced by body fat, is one of the main signals to the body to develop sexually, the more body fat you have in adolescence, the more likely you are to reach sexual maturity early.

I would go to the national beef association or the FDA and research it there. I don't give my 4 kids meat that you can buy from the grocery store. We get ours from a local meat market that does local cattle and fowl raising and slaughtering. It isn't organic but they are field fed and there is no hormones and antibotics given to them ever. I have been getting my meat from them since Oct. 2005 and haven't bought it anywhere else. We feel better and with my kids I don't have to worry about them getting growth hormones and unnecessary antibiotics from their food.

Of course, if you ingest what the animal did, then you get that poison too! Look at how fast kids mature these days. That's why our country is so fat. IF you must eat meat, eat locally grown meat and make sure the it is organic. But if you choose to live healthier, look better, and do something nice for the planet....go vegetarian/vegan! meetyourmeat.com

Have you seen it too, girls developing before than ever? Try grass fed cattle. Ask for it in your grocery store. Don't meat from eat cattle that's been grown in feedlots. And be careful with eggs, too. Too many hormones in them.
