The foot sweats and creates a very moist environment between the toes and is covered by shoes and sox. The skin naturally flakes off dead cells and this is hastened by the moisture between the toes (actually maceration), the bacteria or fungal cells begins to multiple at incredible speed and we have toejam. In Asia where most people wear sandals, it doesn't happen because the space between the toes stays relatively dry.

It's when you invite everyone to a party and tell them to only wear sandals to show off their pretty toes... add a slow jam in the background......
LOL

It is when your feet stink..... When sweat and dirt mix... The bacteria is what causes the stench. You probably have a fungus.. Try Dr. Scholls medicated foot powder.

Depending on the consistency, it could just be lint and sweat, or you could have athelete's foot. IF there is an odor, something is amiss.
