1)boys usually do the asking
2)like everybody else i think we are scared of getting rejected. (even guys are afraid of geting rejected too)

Both guys and girls get embarrassed equally. IT's just that guys have more pressure to ask the girl out than the girl to ask the guy (which I believe isn't right). You can ask our boys if you want, and sure at first it will be scary, but over time you will probably get use to it and be able to go about it more calmly. Guys are the same way!

I don't know, why can't they? I guess it is because traditionally the male was put in the role of pursuer. But in this modern day and age why can't we females ask a guy out? Some fear being rejected or ridiculed. But if someone rejects or ridicules you for doing so, then you learned fast you didn't want to be with them after all.

Here's a tip--guys are just as afraid of rejection as girls are. The only difference is that when you look at it from a developmental psychology stance, boys are generally reared to be risk-takers, whereas girls are generally raised to be quiet and polite.
(Naturally there are many exceptions--I reiterate that these are sweeping generalizations.)
Ultimately it's a matter of courage. Remember, if it truly matters you will find a way--if not, you will find an excuse.

Girls can ask a guy out but most feel that it is inapproiate because they think that if a guy wanted to go out with them then they would ask. In todays world guys are more afraid to approach a girl then the girls r.

They can. Well, Historicly, Boys are the one's who do the asking but girls can say i like you and guys are embarrsed just as much as you are. Some boys may have better self confidence and appear to be fine but girl & guys both get embarassed.

These days there are no hard and fast rules.Due to a greater general fear of rejection boys have, go ahead and make the first move.If I didn't, I would have been sitting on the sidelines a long, long time

i don't know i can't do that either. if i am going to be going out with someone it will be them that does the asking out. but i think it depends on the person also i know a lot of girls that ask the guys out. but i know what you mean with getting embarrassed. it sucks :(

There's so many factors, including personal and reglious beliefs. But today, it'd not uncommon to find girls who initiates the dates nowadays.

you can ask a boy out.the days of that not looking right are over,i raised 4 sons and they have had girls ask them out,no one ever thought less of them

If you like the guy, ask him out. If you get embarassed, oh well. If he says no, oh well. At least you took a shot.
