I can draw really well, (genetics), but i don't like to draw a lot, it takes a lot of energy and by my mothers standards I just barely able to be called an Intermidiate drawer. And when I do draw, I draw morbid things or things that have to do with wicca because that is how I think, and what I feel lately, What do I do?

I am going to read into your question some. Please comment if it is not right. My assumption is this: It appears that drawing leaves you feeling drained and depressed. My answer is based on this assumption.

If you like feeling this way, then perhaps you should explore these feelings further through your art.

If, on the other hand, you do not enjoy feeling this way, then you need to find another outlet for your soul -- at least temporarily. Your emotions may even need a break for a while. I gather from your post that you are highly creative. Perhaps you should consider doing something more scientific for a time. If you are still in school, shift your efforts to your more academic classes. Delve into your other interests for a while. After a while, you should discover that you have regained balanced and are ready to return.

To answer your other question, yes this is normal. Many artists have periods of low productivity while they regain balance in their lives. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this. If your art is indeed a talent, then taking a break from it will probably help it more than hinder.

As a child and teenager I loved to doodle with ink pens, loved the flow ya know. My mother would tell me I was wasting ink. It finally discouraged me enough to quit doodling altogether.
Luckily when I finally flew the nest I gradually came back to art and came to know it is my passion.
Draw whatever you like. You have to travel your own path. There is a good book that you should read if you like morbid art. It is called "The Mission of Art" by Alex Grey. He went through an extremely morbid period in his life that helped him get to where he is today, a visionary artist. You could check out his website and see his stuff, and I got the book in Barnes & Noble. Hang in there and please don't totally give up your art, maybe just give it a short rest. www.alexgrey.com........CHECK IT OUT.

Having been blessed with such gift and for you to take it for granted, It would be nice to have you arrested and locked up in a jail for a year for its a crime not to develop your talent . Maybe when you're deprived of things that have been accessible before, you might realize the value of those gifts , the chances for growth and time wasted wondering. Perhaps Art really is not your calling, better for you to join the Army and find meaning in Iraq.
