Its Italian wood and really sturdy, very beautiful too. Same one at babies r us is $400+ just for the crib. Its a good deal!
The problem is my husband isnt sure he wants to buy it since his mother or grandmother might want to buy us a crib set. But I don't see why I should ask them to spen $600 on a crib set when I can buy it for less.
Maybe we can buy it and allow them to buy us stuff like the highchair, glider with ottoman and maybe suggest paying for swimming lessons if they really want to buy something.
I feel bad having people waste money on us!

The question is what should I do? Buy it or have family buy it and spend more because they want to buy us something big.

That IS a good deal! I'd buy it and then if they want to buy you other things, like the highchair, then they can do that. Congrats on the great deal! :)

lol what should be important to your husband is your being happy it doesnt matter who BUYS the crib if they want they can offer with other big objects that you could use.. also could end the competiton of who buys you the best gift for the baby that weirdly happens.. Make a list of other important stuff that you need.

Hey, if you're really liking this set, then get it! And be sure to tell your family that you've bought these items, but if they're wanting to help out and contribute, there is an arm-long list of things you still need! And tell them thank you with a TON of sincerity for wanting to get you guys baby stuff!

If you want the crib set that badly, just tell your in-laws how you feel...maybe they can buy the other crib set to keep at their house...if they intend on babysitting or you visit them often....It can be tough saying no to people, but it's your decision....Don't feel bad...just be upfront and honest with people...they should understand.

You need to buy it!! This is a great deal and if you explain to his mother and grandmother, I think they will understand. Let them know what else you need and tell them to buy that for you instead.

It sounds like you are crazy over that set. Its furniture that you'll be seeing on a daily basis. Would you really want to leave that choice to other people? It matches your tastes, and its a good deal. I say buy it! If they want to buy stuff, diapers are always greatly appreciated! But yeah, buy what you like.

I would get it and like you said tell them you still need certain things if they would be willing to help with that.
