Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. This may not include access as that's a hard one for even some advanced people.
Using windows in general may not get you anywhere. It is the applications that do the work. Windows is just an operating system. If they are asking you to see how well you can fix things thats different.
Can you go into safe mode to fix certain problems? Can you create and seperate the C: drive so that you have 2 serperate places to store information? Are you able to add and remove programs and adjust simple things like a screensaver?
They may mean those things.
Good luck.

Im guessing here but first off there are a verity on OS out there. Mac, Windows, Linux, and then dos bassed. But in most operations you find windows form OS, larger Co. have trouble desk to walk users thru problems. Some times it a device that is in conflict, a lost password, or a misplaced file. For you to do your job and not fumble around infrount of others. Just my thought.

They probably want to know if you can cope with a system that keeps hanging, crashing, or just coming up with inexplicable errors.
Also, in agreement with a previous answerer, do you know what to do when the dumb blonde in the next office does something clever like switching the damn thing off at the mains instead of shutting down.....
As a second thought, there's nothing in your question that actually mentions computers......... are you sure they don't just want you to CLEAN the windows??

I think it depends entirely on what role you are being interviewed for.... I think generally employers want to know that you can work in Word and Excel etc. If it is a technical role you are applying for, they will probably want you to be able to configure the system etc

It depends on the type of role you are interviewing for:
- If it's a programming role, then they would expect you to have some w32 API experience.
- If it is to do with System Adminisrator type role, they you would be expected to know much about networking, configuration, backup, Active Directory, etc ..

I would guess they want to know if you can cope when the dumb blond in the next office looses her documents, or screws her network connection...
It rather depends on the role your going for, and personally I am surprised you needed to ask this question..
