You can trust him and then find out a year down the line that he lied. I say check. Its not my fault people cant be trusted. I would love to know if you checked and what you found.

Trust, trust trust..You have to trust him no matter how hard it is. I know this for a fact. If for some reason you have doubts, then ask him up front about it. Do not accuse him, merely ask him if he has heard from her at all etc...If it is just his ex, and no children involved, he should have no other reason to talk to her if it is over, unless the two of you have discussed whether or not they can remain friends. However, if there are children involved, you must understand that he does need to have contact with her because of those children. (I gather from your question, that this is not the case). I know it is hard to trust him, but if he has never given you a reason to not trust him, then it should be okay. It is harder to regain a person's trust once you have lost it, this I know from experience.

Trust him. You can go and check like the one person suggested, but he will be upset if he know you did and realize that you do not trust him. until he gives you reason not to, trusting him is the right course of action.

Trust him. If he wanted to be with her he wouldn't be with you. Good luck.
