I guess I would say that it has to be God's responsibility to ensure that we use the things he gives us properly.

An analogy, if you give a young child scissors, it is your responsibility to ensure this child uses the scissors for the right purpose and does not hurt him/herself.

You cannot give someone dangerous items, electronics, machinery, weapons, and just assume everything is going to be ok.

Therefore, I think God has the responsibility to guide us properly in using the things he has given us. Should we fail, it is as much his problem as it is ours.

This is a very hard question to ask, a question most theologians have been suffering over for years. What is the obligation that causes God to have responsibility over our concern? There is none but love--and that is hardly an obligation. Just as He chooses to love and care for us, we have the power, through His likeness and image, to love and care for him back. He keeps watching us and testing us and hoping we live our lives as good creations, so that one day, if you take Revelations as Gospel, we can be reunited with Him. He is responsible for providing us with love, a hope of eternal freedom and an end to suffering. But most of all, He is responsible for, if you believe in Creation Theory, providing the very foundations of our existence.

God has the same responsibility as any parent including, at some point, telling us to get our own place and support ourselves. "And be sure to come to dinner on Sundays!"
