Look, earlier it was the windies and now the aussies.
The windies bloomed in a time when there was no helmets to protect ur bonnet.Their array of bouncers and their hitting power made them the cricketing super power. The aussies are genetically much stronger than the asians(they are mostly the descendents of criminals who were exiled to Australia). Now with a negligible population they have a vast country to boast of.(Their Per capita income is many times more than the other cricketing country)
So they get superior facilities and larger supporting staff.Hence their dominance. And have u seen their batting.Symonds and Haydens batting is simply about power(how many cricketing shots do they play?)So,let them dominate, that they will for at least 2 yrs to come, and others should improve their economic conditions in the mean time.
Of i forgot about england but they are the all time losers.(their sun has already set, yaar.)

for a long time to come...

the australian system of finding youngsters with talent and grooming to be great players is excellent. The infrastructure is amazing, people are dedicated to finding such youngsters and tunig them. There is little if no curroption what so ever. And the league is played on really good grounds, with true pitches and at a very high level. Also, the awareness of fitness and stamina is very high, players tend to take care of themselves better.

Till the coming world cup.
WC2007 will get a new champion. The champion's trophy can decide who is more competietive, but for ODIs India perhaps has a chance.
The tri sereis B/w ind-slanka-africa is going to be important.
But Aussies can hop like kangroos, the lions are waiting, sharpening thier claws.

and strong domestic system which will groom them to great players.

unless there are no more katich and clarke s to that team it wil get into its own grave.
