Do we really know about Global Warming. Scientists have no consensus on this issue, and there is definitely no definitive proof of the cause if it does exist. Global warming may very well be real, or then again it may not. If it is real then it may be man-made, or it may not. I will remind you that the same scientists who now scream about global warming, were screaming about global cooling 20 years ago. One thing is definite, the planet is cyclic, there have been many periods of warming and cooling through the geologic ages. Frankly until definitive proof appears I am just going to continue to live my life as I always have.

Most people have been misled about global warming including myself as a child. More research has shown that man's contribution to green house gases is so little that it makes almost no difference in the big picture. A recent study also showed that when taking into account green house gases, water was over looked as a green house gas.
A 1995 report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), a panel formed by the World Meteorological Organization and the United Nations Environment Programme in 1988 to assess the risk of human-induced climate change. In the report, the IPCC wrote that some 90 billion tons of carbon as carbon dioxide annually circulate between the earth's ocean and the atmosphere, and another 60 billion tons exchange between the vegetation and the atmosphere.
Compared to man-made sources' emission of about 5 to 6 billion tons per year, the natural sources would then account for more than 95 percent of all atmospheric carbon dioxide, Essenhigh said.
"At 6 billion tons, humans are then responsible for a comparatively small amount - less than 5 percent - of atmospheric carbon dioxide," he said. "And if nature is the source of the rest of the carbon dioxide, then it is difficult to see that man-made carbon dioxide can be driving the rising temperatures. In fact, I don't believe it does."

Because global warming is not agreed on as a fact. There are many other scientists who say the globe may be cooling or not changing significantly in temperature at all. Al Gore's Position is Politically correct, so he and the scientist who agree with him are the only ones being heard from.
The main reason for the global warming scare is to blame U.S. industry for the problem. The Kyoto accords that would punish people for "causing" global warming only assess penalties to U.S. companies. Many European countries have heavy"smokestack" industries but the accord does not punish them in the least. The accord was not passed into law.

20% of the polar ice cap has melted since 1979... That is not a routine warming of the earth. In less than 50 years some HUGE changes could come upon us; like reduction of land mass, more storms, crazy temperature changes, many species of animals (especially fish) will not be able to adapt to warming waters quick enough, etc.
We know there that our air pollution is affecting our atmosphere and a lot of steps have been taken to fix the problem, but not enough. YOU and everyone reading needs to take action. Write to your congressman, talk to your neighbors, support or join environmental organizations that are trying to do something about this, think about your own efforts to reduce air pollution... Just don’t talk about it, do something or our children will inherit our problems.

because we are lazy and prefer to wait for them/government to solve our problem.
Government/global big business/media is very happy with the current unsustainable industrial growth model that has made them rich and powerful; it is only the poor and future generations who will suffer - and they don't vote or buy enough "stuff" to worry about.
There has never been a revolution where people have demanded less..

Actually, don't include everyone in that "we". I haven't owned a car in ages, don't use airconditioning, recycle everything I can, don't eat too much beef, and can't be bothered to use hairspray. By pure coincidence, I think my ecological footprint is pretty small.

Because chances are the disasters related to it won`t occur in our lifetime, so we decided to ignore the whole thing.
