Some of my friends think that I'm a christian with an intrest in home medicine, but I'm not. I am really a wiccan, but if I tell I don't want to lose them as friends, also some of my family might shun me, my mother and stepfather know, but they are still deciding if its a good thing or not.

Honestly a tough one.

Fact is christians that are devout (or at least close too it) will question you b/c

1. You lied to them

2. Being friends with witches aren't exactly on the top of their list and their parents may no longer accept you. If they have kids you may find yourself no longer welcome in their home.

Whereas the latter may or may not happen, especially if they really love you, fact is you lied to them. Some people don't like liers. Those are the ones that you'll probably lose.

Keep it a secret means you're not being true to yourself. If you are proud of who you are you should let them know (America is FAR more accepting than people think). Your friends stay and nothing will change. The others won't and you move on with your life.

Obviously you care about what these people think. If they are in your everyday life or play an important part then leave it alone. But, if they are your friends (you know your friends better than any of us) they will accept you for who you are. It is not like you're a criminal. You are not hurting anyone. There are worse kinds of people out here. Do you have a very close knit family? If so then they will love you regardless. They might not accept what you do but they will love you anyway. "It's good to lose those who are not friends than to keep those we think as friends". If they are friends they will accept you. Or it may take time for them to accept your practice. Living a lie is when you are hurting someone. Is it hurting you or hurting them not to tell? That should be the question.
