Kirstie Alley as Rebecca HANDS DOWN. Earthy, sexy and funny, and could keep up with the quips. Diane was a cold ***** who thought she was superior to everyone.

Shelley Long because even though I do like Kirstie Alley, I think the chemistry between Sam and Diane was much much better. The show kind of went downhill after Shelley left it, getting crazier and sillier.

Shelley Long as Diane. I know there were personality problems on the set, but I did prefer her character better. Sorry, Kirstie. Even though we share the same hometown, going to have to go with Shelley.

I liked Shelley Long as Diane better. She was cute, pretty, okay a little ditzy, but I thought her and Ted Danson had alot of chemistry between them. Kirstie Alley is one ugly looking woman, and she acted too tough on the show - certainly not the type Ted Danson would have went for.

I liked Shelley Long's character better, but I like Kirstie Alley's acting better, so it was a toss up for me. :)

Kirstie Alley. The "Diane" character was a pretentious, condescending know-it-all. Rebecca was prettier and although superficial, she was all round more attractive.
