I did homework for my sweetheart in high school, for free (that's where I made my mistake). As far as you question goes, multiply through by the reciprocal of 2/3, or 3/2. That gives you 3*18 / 2, or 27. X = 27. Then, make sure you check the answer. 27 * 2 = 54. 54 / 3 = 18, check. You're done. Or, I am--bye.

x = 27
You multiply both sides of the equation by the reciprocal of the fraction.
3/2 (2/3x) = 18 (3/2)
x = 54/2 = 27

2/3*x = 18. Multiply both sides by 3.
2x = 54. divide by 2.
x = 27.

(2/3)*x = 18
first you need to get x by itself by mulitplying both sides by (3/2). that cancels out the left side except the x and so you just need to deal with the right side. 18*3 = 54 then divide by 2 and you get 27
Hope that helps.
