At the early teens, they will seem like all they do is sleep. It is the bodies way of recharging the brain and the growing body. There is so much going on with them at that time. I would think probably 10-12 hours per day. I have a 12 year old girl and she usually gets an average of 10 hours. If she doesn't get enough, she is cranky and quick to cry and snap at everyone. If she didn't get enough the night before, I will make her go to bed at least a half hour earlier the next night.

When I was 15 I was always feeling lousy because I got about 5 to 6 hours of sleep. Now I sleep as much as I need to (at age 18) and I am getting about 9 hours. Also, if you are getting a lot of sleep and feel tired, it's possible you are somewhat anemic (as I am) and ask your doctor about taking iron pills.

8 Hours is the amount of time a girl your age should sleep but if you are very athletic, play multiple sports, or exercise alot than you should get 8-10 hours. if you dont sleep enough than you are more likly to gain weight, you will have less energy, & you will be sick more often. It can also cause your skin to break out in zits (ew)

She should get around 8 hours of sleep. If she doesn't get enough, she will be tired all day and have a hard time concentrating at school.

They say 8 hours is recommended for everyone. I normally get 5-6.5 hrs per night. I have trouble concentrating at work, get frustrated more easily and maybe a little bit tired. I'm starting to get 7 hours now.

7 -9 hours of sleep. if she doesnt then it might be due to stress or something that bothers her. try seeing a doctor about options. cuz she can get very cranky and upset not be 100% at things if they were to get full amounts of sleep

7 or 8 hours should do it, unless she's getting sick.
If she doesn't rest enough, her immune system may start to weaken and she'll start waking up (and staying!) cranky. It may not make much difference now, but her test scores will go down. In general she'll start feeling 'blah'.
