Want to go to a Greek Island for a few days that is affordable, and easy to get around (preferably walking distance) where I won't need to rent a car.

I can propose an island but I am not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for.

There is one island about three hours from Piraeus port and is called Hydra.

Hydra is a very nice island, with many traditional buildings and nice beaches. You do not need a car because there are no cars. The island is small and it has no road network. It was built like that many years ago and it did not change. The only way of transportation are donkeys, sea taxis and of course walking. It is ideal for trekking but the distances are not very big.

Hydra is small but has many things to do. It has bars, clubs, nice restaurants, museums and many other attractions. Because it is small and not very famous, mostly Greeks go there, it is not expencive like Santorini and Mykonos.

I find it ideal for a few days of relaxing.

I can not really tell you any island that you do not a car because it depends on the person and what he/she wants to do. Most of the people either rent mopeds or use the buses. What I can tell you is that you need a car for sure in Crete, Rhodes, Chios, Metelene, Mykonos, Corfu and maybe a couple of more.

Have a nice time.

Kefalonia or as the Greeks call it, Cefalonia, I can vouch from personal experience that this is a gem of an island. You do not need a car but I do recommend that you hire mopeds (The best way to view the fullest range of locations of the island as possible. Take the ferry across to the north island and visit the most picturesque beaches in Greece. The beaches in the south are gorgeous and it has the set from the Nick Cage and Selma Hyek flick 'Captain Corelli's Mandolin' near Antisammos beach (not sure if I spelt that right). water is a little chilly off season but a 3mm wetsiut will see you alright.
Food and drink is 1st rate, shopping is OK and the relaxation factor is awesome. Have Fun

Spetses!
I can say that is better than other islands or not cause i didnt visit all island.
If you want to go to Spetses you will pass near Hydra which seems to be amazing indeed.
But Spetses is amazing
3 years in a raw am visiting Spetses.
What i like most is the beaches, peaple, graphic roads , and the chance you have to travel all island by a small motorcycle.
On the island there is not allowed cars, or if it is allowed you can only see a few, so its a great experience for those who are a bit afraid of driving motorcycles.
It will add some extra on your experience in Spetses.
I would recomend a 3-4 days holideys on Spetses combining it wit 3-4 days in Hydra

No cars are allowed on Hydra. It's a very short ferry ride from Athens. There are a lot of day tourists there, but fewer overnighters. You can stay on the back side of the island where the day tourists don't go if you want privacy. You have to take a boat taxi to get there. It's beautiful and charming, but not as removed as some of the more popular islands. I like Skopelos, Skiathos, and Alonissos. You can get by without a car on any of those islands or any of the Cycladic islands as well. Most islands, in fact, are easy to maneuver without a car. You'll have to take taxis or buses, but they aren't too expensive.

Well! Difficult question because you aren't very specific.
Believe it or not, Greece has approx. 3000 islands. Many of them are uninhabited. There are also many tiny islands that you can find some small villages on them and you can cover all distances (village to beach or beach to beach) on foot, small buses or boat .
Also there are some islands that cars doesn't allowed as Hydra.
So let's start
1.Hydra it's a very beautiful island near Athens in Saronic Gulf. Cars not allowed you can use your feet, boat or donkeys for your transportation!!! Many restaurants, bars, clubs, very crowded island. You can meet actors, politicians of members of international jet-set there.
2.Thirasia a volcanic island near Santorini, Aegean Sea (one of the best greek islands) you can visit Santorini (Oia, Fira and Imerovigli villages by bus or on foot) and then you can go to Thrasia. There aren't many cars there (the only road is about 3km long) you can go every where on foot, donkey or boat. Many taverns but there aren't bars or clubs
3. Antiparos (near Paros, Aegean Sea) a small island with many sandy beaches a small paradise. Many taverns and bars.
4. Folegandros (Aegean Sea) a nice island too Some rock stars have there their summer houses. During Augest you maybe see Sting (yes the rock star) walking on the small streets of the village of Folegandros. You can use bus if you don't want to walk.
5.Anafi (Aegean Sea)
6.Donousa, Herakleia, Skhinousa (Koufonisia, Aegean Sea)
7.Kimolos, Aegean Sea
8. Ericousa, Mathraki, Othonoi (Ionian Sea)
9. Paxoi and Antipaxoi , Ionian Sea (some of the best beaches in Europe)
10.Castelorizo, Dodecanisa complex of islands,Aegean Sea, a very small but so beautifull island
and much more. It's according to what do you prefer.
In all greek islands (even the big) you can use buses, taxis or boats. Public buses are clean, new and very strick in their time-tables. Distances are sort. Ticket prices are low so you don't spend much.

Island With No Cars

The island of Hydra is beautiful, a close distance from Athens, and you will not need to rent a car. Actually, you will not be able to rent a car, as no motorized vehicles are allowed on the island ;)

Note however it may not be as cheap as Aegina, another island of the Saronic gulf, which is quite bigger yet still easy to get around and plenty of things to do / see, although perhaps you may need to ride the local bus at times.

Apart Ydra, which is already recommended I also recommend Spetses.
Spetses is close to Ydra, and its a traditional island as well with many things such as bars, taverns, nice beaches etc.
Around there you can use the horse carriages or if you wish to go to the beaches the sea taxis or the small boats that they are not expensive.
There are buses as well that they take to beaches but I always liked the small boats, it's funnier :)
I wish you a wonderfull time in the island you will choose. :)

We welcome your decision to visit the land of gods and heroes!
There are more than 10,000 islands in Greece! About 300 are inhabited. You might use car in about 50 of them , the rest are great without cars!
What else would you like? The people before me placed superb advices!
If you want to vacation on the south most part of Europe, Gavdos is there!, south of Crete, about an hour by boat from south Chania!
