The most recent batch has not been auctioned...yet...Sotherby's will be holding the auction on Friday, June 30th at 2:00pm in NYC...get out your checkbook and be prepared to shell out between $15 to 30 million! There are many other collections out there, but Stanford has one of the largest and is the 'official' repository...they have already photocopied the documents for prosperty...

NPR just did a short piece on that. Apparently, they are still in the physical possession of Dr. King's family, and are being offered to the highest bidder with a large minimum price.

While several institutions have shown interest, the King family is unwilling to allow unrestricted use of the archives, which is causing problems for the competitors.
