When I could make decisions based not on what was easy or fun but what was the right thing to do. When I could honestly put others needs ahead of my own , even when it was hard. When I realized wants and needs are two entirely different things.
Mature adult isn't a specific number age , it is something from the inside. Also a mature adult realizes they are fallible and they are not immortal.

I have heard that you don't have any real sense until you hit 30.. I didn't get mine until a few months ago.. I'm 33.. so I feel mature most of the time.. more times than not but it's an amazing feeling to wake up and know that I can do whatever I want (within reason) and I don't have to ask my folks for permission..So just now, even though I have been on my own for ages- I just recently realized and felt that I am an adult! Whoo hoo.. pass the Geritol!

I have worked since I turned 14, gradually from then until I turned 17 my independence grew. I had a job and paid for everything I needed including my food. I had to set up college on my own and had the freedom to do as I pleased. My mother is great but money was hard to come by and we became more like roomates where I even would help to pay the bills.

I must have been absent that day!!!
I'm in my early 30's and I'm pretty sure people who know me might call me a mostly responsible adult, but not a mature adult!! I laugh at retard jokes, I think stereotypes are funny, I love a good and completely childish prank, and if it is socially inappropriate I will most likely perpetuate it in others lives...just for kicks!!! Being mature can be HIGHLY over rated and subjective!!! :o) Being childish is much more fun!! Try it out!!!

I don't know about 'mature' adult, but I realized that I am an adult when I realized I support myself and don't depend on my parents for money anymore.
