Both...hockey is one of the best spectator sports and really have to be at the game to get the full effect and the awesome atmosphere

Watching it at the arena not on TV. I can't ice skate so playing it is out of the question.

I enjoy playing it, so long as it's in a friendly and not over-competative environment. But I'm not a great player, so watching is great too.

Which is ultimately "better" depends on your perspective.
