1. If ur mouse needs drivers try to reinstall them
2. Check ur system resources
3. clean the mouse

try to use a different mouse and if the problem repeats defrag ur system and try it again if it doesnt u know wot to do.. time to get a new mouse

It's possible you computer is running out of memory space to run the mouse program properly. Do you know how much space is left on your computer?

Or perhaps there is a problem with the mouse itself. Borrow someone's mouse and see what happens when you use it on your computer.

if the mouse is just having trouble moving on the mouse pad just flip it over and clean the fuzz and other junk from the rollers and do a few blast from the canned air bottle

It's your computer, a mouse cannot freeze up. Defrag your computer, clear up the hard drive, and run a couple virus checks.

maybe the cord is not connected fully or is frayed
the insides of the mouse where the ball rotates might be clogged with dust
Try cleaning it with rubbing alcohol and some q-tips

I found there were several causes. First, the mouse was dirty. Second, it was wearing out. Third, my computer didn't some professional attention.

Clean it. Go on the Internet or find a book on how to clean it. It worked for me.

due to slow memory, 256 mb of ram isn't enough for win xp. better increase ur ram
