Has anyone of you experienced very bad pelvic pain? For instance, if you're lying down and you try to get up and it hurts real bad. If so, what did you do to make the pain less painful?? Cause I asked the doctor and he said its nothing,

unfortunatly, it's just a pain from pregnancy and there is nothing you can really do. If the doc said that it is nothing to be worried about, then it's not. I had the pain, but just learned to deal with it. Try to become aware as to what positions you are in more often when it happens/what positions you are in when it goes away. Hopefully it will help you become more comfortable

Well sure, for HIM it's nothing. He doesn't have to live with it. I've been there too and it is part of the pregnancy experience - your ligaments are stretching and moving, and the bones in your pelvic cradle are starting to reposition. Fun, isn't it.

What I found most effective was to find a sleeping position that didn't bother me as much - and that was using a thin pillow between my knees and another thicker pillow under my feet, then sleeping on my side. Some people swear by the full body pillow, although I never though there was enough room in the bed for me, husband, 2 cats, and the body pillow.

It will end once the baby is born, in case you were wondering.

Your body is creating hormones, (oxytocin, I think...), that cause your ligaments to relax and loosen in preparation for the birthing process. This can make you exceedingly sore. I noticed it most in my hips and pelvic area and occasionally in my lower back.

You'd think your doctor would have taken the time to explain this information to you. Some OB/GYN's forget that not all pregnant women are "old hats" at this. Don't let them out the door without fully explaining something to you. The whole "oh, it's nothing", comment is a bunch of crap. If it were truly "nothing", you wouldn't be feeling it.

The only thing that I found the help alleviate this soreness was to take a warm bath. For some reason, the bouyancy and warmth of the water seemed to help ease the pressure on my joints.

Good luck and congratulations on your pregnancy!!

yes going thro it riight now, and i asked my doc and he said all i can do is just rest, i found that walking helps it hurts abit a first but after a little while it starts to feel better, but pretty much there is nothing you can do because its the babys weight in ur pelvis that is causing the pain. i also use pain killers and take a shower, try also a hot water bottle or a heat pack maybe a bath altho u prolly won't be able to get out of the bath lol

Im almost into my last month and I have the same problem. My doc prescribed tylenol 3 if it gets too bad, luckily I havent used it yet but yeah, it sucks soooo bad. This is my 2nd baby and this time I stay at home instead of working and hardly do much. I think next time I will definitly work out and stay on my feet more, that's what you should do . I never had this problem w/ my 1st.

When you're pregnant all of your internal organs are being pushed around and relocated, so you're going to have a whole lot of aches and pains. Plus you're carrying more weight in that area than you are use to and those kiddo's know how to hit those nerves or sensative areas.

Unfortunatly there's not a whole lot that you can do, but rest and find positions that work for you. I know what you're going through, although, mine was mostly in my back.

Good Luck.

I had this during both of my pregnancies and just get up slowly, it helps to roll to one side first and kind of slide off the bed. My doctor said it was just from the strain of the added weight on the pelvic muscles.

My doctor said it was because I was pinching a nerve. Nothing major but it can be uncomfortable. I tried to keep as much of my body as straight as possible when getting up so I wasn't pinching anything.

I found nothing to stop the pain but learned that getting up slower and easier helped.

Yes, this is round ligament pain. Try to change positions more slowly so you won't suddenly jerk the ligament that is stretching, and the nerves around it that are trying to accomodate it.
