Kandy, you need to stop listening to the the nonsense you are obviously hearing, and use your own brain. Do you really think Bush is trying to show that he is tough? Do you really think that is what this is all about?
Judging by your writting style you are probably to young to understand this, but maybe it will help.
Say you live is a town that is constantly being harrassed by gangs. They have literally declared war on the police and do everything they can for 30 years to attack the town. You live there, but you manage to keep yourself and your children away, figuring that as long as you don't rock the boat, you won't get into any trouble.
One day this gang tries a new tactic, and drives a truck full of explosives into your living room, killing all of your children.
Still feel like appeasing? Still think that if we just leave it be, they will leave you alone. Do you have ANY comprehension of what it must have been like to be the President of the United States on 9/11? We will never know what George Bush would have done or not done for this country under normal circumstances. I know 9/11 changed the man, I know it changed me. What I can't understand is why it didn't change most of you.
Since Pearl Harbor we have never had an attack on us like that, and Pearl Harbor was at least a military target. This brings up another point that needs to be made more, because obviously you all are not being educated properly in school. One of the common things I hear you libs, saying is going into Afghanistan was fine but we shouldn't have gone after Iraq since they didn't attack us.
Do you all actually know who attacked us in Pearl Harbor? Do you all know who we attacked FIRST in response? Sadly I think many of you may not know so I will tell you. Japan attacked us at Pearl Harbor, and we went after the Germans first.
I think you should rethink your your change of heart. Yes we have lost many good men and women in Iraq. But our men and women in the military, knew they were risking their lives, and they were proud to serve their country. They would never want anyone's pity, much less the President's, just your respect and maybe your prayers, and maybe just maybe a little pride for volunteers (and they are ALL volunteers) who willing went to serve this great nation and to protect you.

I like him, and here’s why.
First, when we elected him, we were badly in need of a president who would actually do something substantive in defense of this country, if and when we were attacked. His predecessor did virtually nothing on the several occasions when we were attacked by terrorists overseas.
Second, we needed someone who would actually do what he said he would do. Now, there’s a lot of discussion about this, but I believe he’s done everything I heard him say he was going to do.
Third – and this is the big one – Most of the people I’ve heard complain about him say they hate him because he lied about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. These people believe that Bush, Powell and many others – virtually the entire American government – lied to the whole world so that Bush could settle some personal score by dragging us into war in Iraq. To me, this just doesn’t hold water. For one thing, weapons of mass destruction were found in Iraq. Not the mass stockpiles we were looking for, but certainly enough to prove that Bush was right. For another thing, the Iraqi people were ecstatic that Saddam was gone. I know they’re not happy today, but that’s because of the insurgency, not because of Bush. And the Americans and the Iraqis are working very hard to solve that situation.
There are other reasons, but my point is that you shouldn’t listen to what other people think (including me). And definitely don't pay too much attention to most of the silly yap-yap you find on this site. You should go with what makes sense to you. The arguments I’ve listed here are what makes sense to me.

Bush shouldn't have been elected in the first place. Anyone remember the Florida ballot crisis? His mistakes far outweigh any respect I could have held for him. Although I applaud him for his handling of 9/11, the war was a huge mistake. There was little evidence of weapons of mass destruction, which left us high and dry in front of the entire world, scrambling for some explanation of why we went into Iraq in the first place. His blatant support of Christianity as the soul correct religion while in office and his stupidity overall just digs his grave deeper. Bush should have stayed on the farm, where he belonged.

I have heard and read on various web sites that the only people in his family that will talk to him are his Mother and his wife and probably his daughters when they are not in hiding. I think his Father (senior Bush) quite trying to reason with him and is really disillusioned about his little boy's ability to speak, make decisions, and run the Country.

He's alright, I don't agree with everything he does but I believe he's trying to do the right thing. I especially like him because he drives liberals insane!
And just a little FYI....no president of the united states has ever been in combat while being the president....not even our 1st prez during the revolutionary war.

I don't like him.. he's just increasing the destruction in the Middle East.. and I think very soon there'll be a war between North Korea and Iran against the USA due to the external politics of Bush..

I really can't think of any reason to like the president, he has caused hate and discontent around the world and here in the United States and will continue to do so as long as he is in office.

OK I consider myself pretty moderate on most issues... not that I voted for him or anybody else, too young.
But I don't like his policies and the way he does things. I have nothing against him personally. He's funny, even. But i don't like people who try to control everybody and do it using a combination of fear and "us or them" mentality. He makes no effort to compromise and makes badly thought out decisions on the basis of "he thinks he is right' rather than anything more logical. Basically, a President should not polarize a nation, he or she should try to bring it to common ground. He's supposed to lead, not divide.

little girl,
You sound quite sore.
Is he not the dirty old men who is living human kind like you and me who make blunders with slip-ups and human errors?
Were lost and stranded like you and me too on planet earth.
So why not extend him a helping hand instead of pulling sling-shots at him?
When we are all in the same boat on planet earth.
