I have my ears pierced and I have tried everything - silver, gold, those posts for "senstive" ears, natural materials ( I even bought earrings with posts made from bone and shell). I always end up with itchy, irritated earring holes and end up taking them out in about 10 minutes. The next day they are visibly swollen --- (so much that people ask what is wrong with my ear)
I would really like to be able to wear normal earrings. What suggestions do you have? Clip-ons are irritating as well ( too tight and then the hole gets bothered/itchy/swollen then as well.)
I got them pierced 20 years ago if that matters...
Thanks for your help!

Well unfortunately it sounds like you are allergic to them all together. I would suggest going to see a doctor/allergist to see if there is anything that you can do about it. If not then it looks like you will not be able to wear them. So sorry about that. :(

WOO HOO I'm not alone. No answer except that I have tried just about everything too and haven't found post earrings I can wear. I have a pair of wrap around earrings that are OK, and you could try clip ons with screw backs so you can adjust the pressure.

I have the same problem, I have to be very careful of what I put in em, but I have a really nice pair of big cubic zerconian white gold, I think 14kt, that I ordered from hsn.com they are the diamondnique collection, and they seem to work, I also take them out at night when I go to sleep then put em in when i go to work, so it gives my ears time to breath. Hope you try em, they are really pretty, big diamond studs!

Sounds to me like you are just not going to be able to wear them... at all. I have never heard of such a thing, but that is sad. I would die if that happened to me.
