Totally depends on your choice of travel, how many stops you make, and unforeseen delays like detours, vehicle needs, etc.
Any airline, or train co. can provide their estimates by phone or internet, and a cross-country trucker can tell you the best routes to take depending on if you want to go non-stop or make pit-stops...so much to see along the way! Horseback is no longer an option because of real estate lines & red tape (I wanted to do this at one time), but you could bike or walk, too, if you have alot of time (like a few months) to do that. Make it fun no matter what...

IF YOUR FLYING 6-7 HOURS
GREYHOUND 4-5 DAYS
DRIVING 4-7 DAYS DEPENDING HOW FAR YOU DRIVE ON A DAILY BIASES
HAVE DONE ALL OF THE ABOVE
THE TRIP IS GREAT BY THE OPEN ROAD IF YOU HAVE THE TIME
BUT IF YOU CANT TAKE THE ROAD THEN FLY

On a non-stop jet, it takes about 5.5 hours.
That assumes that you take off on time and have no trouble landing.

i traveled from omaha, nebraska to the middle of utah in 26 hours, by train. that's only like 1,300 miles. so i guess double that?
