Pay as you go means you pay for something as you use it. Or you pay for it before and then you use it. Like prepaid phone cards.

Pay as you go is a pre paid phone that does not have any contract so if you cant pay the bill or dont want to keep it for a year or 2 you can buy time when you need it

You pay for your minutes up front.NO DAMN CONTRACTS.For me,I use pay-as-u-go w/T-mobile.
I buy $100 dollars worth, which is 1000 minutes or a year which ever comes first. But since I'm a gold member,I get to carry any unused minutes from my previous purchase(which was 370 minutes). So right now I have 1370 minutes to use from now til 6/24/07.I dont have to pay another dime unless I run out of minutes.Plus I get all the basics(voicemail, text messaging, call waiting, etc. that regular monthly customers pay.IMO,it's the only way to go.

you have a phone, you buy credits and you get a code, you enter the code in the phone then you have say 30 credits. each minute you talk uses say one tenth of a credit. Boost mobile has mobile to mobile calls for 1 credit per day. When your credits are gone you can no longer use the phone until you buy more credits and enter the code.

You dont have any contract, and no bill to pay every month. You just pay, by toping up your credits on your mobile, by buying scratch-cards or using cards your provider gives you.
So, for example you put 10 dollars in your account and when it is spent then you have to add more.

It means you only pay for the time that you actually use at a set rate per minute.

it means pre-paid... you buy the minutes, let's say 100 minutes. then use it as you use the phone minutes. no need to pay monthly fee.

but after 100 minutes, you have to refill..

it is better for those who don't talk a lot!
