Only Major League Baseball teams can partake of The World Series.

Currently that would be AMERICA and canada

Only teams in the National or American league of Major League Baseball. No countries play each other. The new World Baseball Classic started up this last spring because baseball was eliminated from the Olympics competitions. The WBC is made up of different countries.
