Your cycle is all regulated by hormones, which are in flux right now because of the stopping of breastfeeding. Other things can effect this too -- being on The Pill, being very stressed, diet, increase/decrease in exercise etc. It may correct itself in a few months or may not. Tell your doctor about all of the above factors so that he/she can help determine your next step.
In the meantime, be sure to take iron supplements to keep from becoming anemic (the excessive amount of menstraul blood lost can make you anemic.) Best wishes.

That is usually normal for when you stop breastfeeding. Well at least for me, that is what it did. I didn't have one after my kids were born except for the postpartum bleeding. With my second child, I didn't have a period for almost a year and when I did, it lasted 2 weeks.
You were right to make an appointment. Try not to worry it is most likely your body getting back to normal. It is hard to be pregnant, deliver, breastfeed and at the same time as that, heal our bodies from what we just went through.

If this happened right after you had the baby , you're supposed to bleed for exactly 40 days. Now if it is 2 or 3 months after , it's just a hormonal problem ,check with your doc if consistent.

Give your body a chance to re-coop. If you just stopped breastfeeding, your body is trying to adjust. Between the pregnancies, birth and breastfeeding, your hormones will be out of whack! To be on the safe side do have your doctor check you out, but most likely, you are fine.

Something similar happened when I had my 2nd baby. Don't be alarmed. It will get better. It actually took me about 1 year to get back to normal after my 2nd child. It's not a bad idea to see your doc, but having had a similar I would recommend you not be too concerned. Your body is just readjusting.
