I was going to suggest Jonas Salk and I see he's already here. Also Alexander Fleming, who discovered penicillin, the first antibiotic.
It is impossible to count how many lives these two scientists have saved. If that's not worthy of a holiday in their honor, I don't know what is.

Edward Bernays - In 1914 Bernays started CPI the Center for Public Information - The US governments public relations outfit that is responsible for selling stuff like wars to the American people under the disguise of democracy and helped establish the term "manufacturing consent". Bernays is considered the father of modern public relations and propaganda. The reason our government gets away with the stuff (illegal) that they do is all due to his contributions.

I would want to honor George W Bush. I think he deserves a day to be celebrated for showing all future presidents how not to run the country and for showing the country that maybe there is a little idiot in all of us. But definately in those that voted for him.

I think that there should be a holiday for all the police, firemen, and EMTs for their work each and every day. I think it should be observered on Sept. 12
