There are many references to Shiloh in the Old Testament. This was an ancient city where the Ark of the Covenant was kept for years until the city was captured. Shiloh was noted for the presence of God and most of the major Prophets of old lived at Shiloh. There is a heart warming story about the prophet Samuel who was placed there when he was around the age of 12. It's a great story taking place in the first 2 chapters of 1 Samuel--a good read regardless of ones religion.
