Chemistry, in the simplest level, deals with basic algebra. If you are taking physical chemistry, be prepared to do some advanced calculus.. But that is a jr. level college course.

If you are taking, say an "intro to college course", the most math you NEED is basic algebra and knowing how to do natrual logs etc.

Chemistry is NOT a difficult subject, if you are willing to work hard, and get help if/when you don't understand something. It is not a lot of math, it is based more in applying/ and understanding concepts, sometimes in a mathematical way.

Chemistry, again, is not really about the math, it is about understanding the relationships of things in the world!!

best of luck!!
enjoy chemistry!!

The beginning classes of chemistry aren't too difficult. The math is pretty simple too. Just plugging into equations. Nothing too complex. However if you continue with chemistry, taking more advanced courses, it does get a bit challenging. My words of advice are study and practice. The best way to learn many things in chemistry is to do many practice problems!

i took chemistry and then bio-chemistry in college.
It starts out easy enough, you have to learn to convert measurements and the basic concepts of an atom and learn to use the periodic table. Then as you continue it starts to get heavier, you need to learn how to make molecules, predict a chemical reaction, memorize many concepts and the names of different carbohydrates, proteins, and know their structures, and if they are soluble in what solution etc. WOW am i glad that class i over, look didn't mean to scare you, after all i said i took a college chemistry course, you are still in high school, i am sure they wont give you all that i mentioned, good luck.

You are taking chemistry honors? Check out remedial English. Concentrate your studies on English punctuation, grammar, sentence structure and spelling.

all you need is algebra really. if you stay with it you'll do fine, but chem is not something you can cram for and expect a decent grade. you have to really work at it. chemistry is the central science and if you want to find what it's all about try www.chemistry.org

it's the ACS site and will help get you started.

to me it is hard to learn. I hate it when i used to take just a level chemistry.

study something which u find easier in chemistry.i think the majority of questions asked will b concentrated on organic chem so learn the basics thoroughly and just do oral tests with ur friends with the IUPAC names and it really works. it worked rally well for me check it out. and then dont forget to do the problems ok..................
ALL THE BEST!

It is all kinds of math. Mostly following dumb formulas and doing conversions and crap. It's just another math class. I hated it.
