I've read in many places it takes 3-6 days to heal, but does this mean for the pain to stop, or completely heal?
I have a scratched cornea, and saw a optometrist, he gave me some drops to use. Its been a more than a week and the pain is gone, but I still feel something there.

It can take a day or more than a week. If you are itching, do not rub your eye or you can rub off the new cells that grew when your eye is healing. You can also break them off by rubbing your eye against a pillow in your sleep. You are at some risk for re-occurrence for a year.
It would have been better to see an ophthalmologist than an optometrist. Did he give you ointment for night-time use?

I had bacterical cong...(however its spelled) and I am a contact wearer..so tyring to hold on to my contacts and go out; I damaged my cornea(scratched it) and I went to the emergency room b/c it was so painful...It will take at least 7 days for it to heal with the drops( a small bottle with yellow liquid in it)...And he should have prescribed some antibiotics. I healed and is still a contact wearer. You need to go back to the doctor. Do you have a stye on your eye?

The healing time required depends on the size and depth of the scratch. You did the right thing by going to your optometrist. If your eye is still bothering you, call your doctor.

I had to have tissue scraped off of my eye...Recurrent Corneal Errosion...years ago. Had to be done several different times and still 20 years later the problem pops up and feels like something is there. If it is bad enough you may have to get it done. The pain should go away in a couple days.

Sorry, I KNOW HOW UNCOMFOTABLE that is!!!!

It depends on if it is aggravated by the dog messing with it or if the medication is not used correctly and an infection develops. That is why the vet wants to check it. To make sure it is healing properly, you don't want an eye injury to get bad. And you don't want to wait and find out too late!

6 days and it heals. with a patch on. don't remove the patch, when you open your eye after 6 days it will seem weird for 10 minutes or so,you'll be fine.

u scratches on the eye are very pain full, however, remember that your eye heals itself MOST the time, keep in mind that every time you blink or rub ur eye, it was healing but it has to start healing all over each and every time you rub, scratch, blink etc...
sorry I was repeating myself, I had shingles in my eye and it was very pain full...
Good luck....
