Whenever I try to turn a game on, I keep getting the disc is dirty or damaged message, even if it's a brand new game. It will usually take at least 30 minutes before the game will finally come on. Sometimes it plays with no problems. Other times it will freeze, or stop playing and give me the dirty or damaged disc message. Any real help will be appreciated.

This is a common problem with the XBOX. I would contact their support and if they are unable to help, you might be better off buying a new one.

The same thing happened to me, I bought my new Xbox popped in a brand new GTA Vice City game and it said disc error. And then I found out when I bought my new Xbox it was full of dust, so much the wrapper that was suppose to come with it was loose! So I returned and just got a new one. Maybe ur Xbox is full of dust or maybe you need a new one.

If it's new, take it back to the place you bought it with the receipt. If it's so many days old, the limited warranty (30 days?) expires and you have to call customer service to locate a certified repair place or negotiate a replacement with them. Sometimes you can ship the thing to their factory and they'll fix it for you for a fee.
