The alcohol interferes with the absorption of the drug, & you could end up with toxic side effects. If you want cirrhosis, it is your liver.

Drinking alcohol while taking Flagyl (or for 3 days after stopping taking the flagyl), can cause many poblems such as intense nausea, vomiting, headache, abdominal cramps, flushing, and a racing heartbeat. In some cases, these side effects may even lead to heart or liver damage.

Not worth the risk...hold off for the 7-10 days :O)

Hi! I don't what your medical condition is or why you are taking this drug but it is a pretty heavy drug and to mix it with alcohol is taking a risk as alcoholic beverages should not be consumed during Metronidazole therapy and for at least one day afterward because abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting, headaches, and flushing may occur.
Hope this helps!

B/c its not going to work. I had to take it for 10 days and I drank on it....And I ended up having to get more.
I never had any nasty side effects from drinking and taking it but what I was taking it for wouldn't go away until I properly used the medication.

If I am not wrong that is an antibiotic. You cant drink because alcohol minors the effects of antibiotics and the antibiotics wont work at all. Your infection will increase, you will wasting your money and you wont feel better at all.

when you drink alchohol it goes through your system faster, which is why you pee more, if you pee more it flushes out your system, and you just end up flushing the medicine out ,that is one reason, another is that alcohol can change the effects of the medicine and not for the better. it all depends on your meds and what your are taking, if the doc says don't drink, dont drink!!!

if it says on the prescription bottle not to drink alcohol, then i would assume the warning is there for a reason. are you an alcoholic? if not , than you ought to be able to wait until your medicine is gone before having a drink.

That is an antibiotic, used most commonly for internal parasites. And you want to drink alcohol? Do you enjoy intestinal disorders?

nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, headache, dizziness, vertigo, confusion, irritability... call your doctor if you notice any ataxia, tremors, or unusual bleeding or bruising. Most of those probably wont happen though, diarrhea and dry mouth will be the big ones.

NO ALCOHOL- a disulfiram-like reaction may occur, symptoms include abdominal cramps, vomiting, flushing, and headache.
