If you have cable, tune into a yoga class to get in touch with all your muscles and maybe watch an aerobic class. Doing this will help you to get in touch with your breath which can help to make dancing easier. Try jogging to improve your leg muscles and endurance. Then, practice isometric excercize. Use these diciplines to gain a foundation for your movement, then practice dancing in front of the mirror. Dancing is easier when you have internal strength, although not necessary to dance. Good Luck!

Listen to the beat. Decide on the style you want to learn and learn some steps by watching other dancers. Fit your movements to the rhythm of the music. It's not difficult if you relax and let it take control.
Failing that, in a club I've always found MDMA and speed helped.
