Actually there are 5 frogs on a horse. The soft part of the hoof and the saddle horn is sometimes referred to as the frog.

I had horses , pick up the hoof of the horse and you see a part that is like a V and very soft , that is the frog on a horse , becareful that area is real touchy and if you hit the frog be ready to be stepped on or hit due to that like you getting hit in your arm or leg real hard .
