why do people curse?

The fact that it's rude and may offend people is exactly what makes it a great way to vent frustration.

It is certainly rude and disrespectful. Some people don't even know when they are cursing. It is like second nature to them, part of their vocabulary. They do have to learn that there is no place for these words in many places and conversations. We, non cursing people can help by not giving a reactio like laughing and asking them to leave obscene language out or you will leave. i even told that to my director last week and he apologized. Only expect good if you yourself don't curse.

You can go to this question page and click edit to the right of the question and change the spelling to curse.
It is rude, most do it to make themselves seem tough and in control. Sometimes they do it to get attention or accentuate their point.
Mostly I think its for shock value and to get attention.

I dont know. It is either they get mad at something and curse or just do it for attention.

haven't a clue why? i do my self like a truck driver i guess when you feel really strong about something you feel like if you curse people know how passionate you feel well, for me any way lol
