I have used this site for a couple of years and as part of hosting your site with them their package comes with several ecommerce programs. Plus they offer very reasonable and scaling solution depending on how many sales (transitions) you expect. Here are the different carts you can install.
I think the starting hosting package starts at 24 dollar a year!

There used to be a product around that you could get free on CD-ROM called iCat Internet Commerce Suite. The demo would support a store of about 20 products but would have to be reset every 20 transactions (encouraging you to buy the full version). You can search the internet to see if it's still around, though I'd be concerned about not having security updates. Their website seems to now resolve to some insurance site. I believe Intel had bought the company at one point.
