If it is a car you own, you should find that in the specifications section of the owner's manual.
Any car you can physically see should also have that posted on a tag on the inside of the driver's door frame. Open the door and look along the side where it latches.
If you just need the info for a car without looking at the actual car, you can find specifications for all current models on each manufacturer's website. For older cars, you might want to check via a search engine and type in (name of car) weights specifications. Good luck

yes its on the drivers side door on the sticker or another possibility is in the glove box or wait the trunk on the lid and last but not least a tire dealership can look up your vehicle for the type of tires your car should have on it and it will give the towing weight.

are you kidding me? 3 tons? what do you have? probably an American car where there's none under 2 tons or so, mine weighs 800 kilo, that's barely close to 1 ton, and its a ford ^^
