Depending on your age, you could come up with some cute material for this assignment.

If you are still living at home with your parents, you could write a persuasive speech about how you need to borrow the car, or need money for some expensive item or trip or something.

Aren't able to come up with anything like that, maybe you could prepare a small oration about how people shouldn't drink and drive, or smoke in restaurants, or something like that. Maybe you're in favor or against a certain product or product manufacturer and want to encourage people to either buy those products or boycott them. It's hard to be more specific because I don't know what bothers you or what you wish other people could understand about you. I suggest you sit down and try to figure out a few things like that though, and work from there.

Cheers, and good luck.

Pursuasive speeches work best when you use a topic you DON'T agree with and argue for it.
But if you don't want to do that, try something like, "Why senior citizens should retake a driving test if they drive 50+ miles a week or more after age 75." There are plenty of reasons why this would be a good idea, such as, road changes, car changes (for example...the 10:00/2:00 position is dangerous due to airbags). Good Luck!

You can talk about everything you like ... as long as you persuade that your facts are true, or persuade that something is right or wrong. Or talk about a problem and get your school mates to agree with your solution. I always check the lists of ideas at this speech topics guide:

illegal immigration, sex education, where do civil liberties (ie: free speech) end, thr iraq war, usefulness of public education, death penalty, steroid usage, tax cuts, salary caps in sports, smoking in restaurants, drug use (some argue marijuana should be legalized), cloning, reducing or increasing the voting age, incrasing or decreasing the legal drinking/smoking age, alternative medicines vs. commercial drugs, denying civil liberties for security, governing the internet, censorship...choose which side you'd like to be one on any of these topics then make a list of pros and cons. Use the pros to persuade your stance and if u can turn around the cons to advance your idea or reject them with other evidence..good luck

Think about what you'd like to convince the world to agree with on. It has to be something you're interested in and that you believe-- it'll make your speech that much better.

If you don't really have any opinions about anything, or don't really care about much, there's no helping you. But think even about the idiosyncratic things in your life-- they make really interesting speeches. Maybe everyone will do something about why Bush shouldn't be president. Duh-- that's easy and everyone's will be the same.

Pick something like why people should use Macs instead of PCs, or why prose is better than poetry.

I had to do one for English and for a persuasive speech, I would suggest a controversial topic like stem cell research, abortion, etc. I did mine on animal rights :)

Take one side or the other on the death penalty or steroids in baseball or organ donation. Just make sure the topic is controversial.
